HSR project in North China makes progress
North China is speeding up building a 290-kilometer railway-the Jining-Datong-Yuanping High-speed Railway-to set up an express link between Inner Mongolia and Shanxi province. Builders from China Railway No 4 Engineering Group Co Ltd have completed the continuous beam for the super-large Bridge Traversing National Expressway 512 on the line. The HSR, with an investment of 33.93 billion yuan ($5.06 billion), is expected to facilitate trains in running at speeds of up to 250 km per hour. The project is in the northern part of the Hohhot-Nanning HSR, which figures in China's "eight verticals and eight horizontals" HSR network.
Jan-Aug foreign trade of Henan grows 8%
Foreign trade of Central China's Henan province grew 8.4 percent year-on-year to 517.56 billion yuan ($75 billion) in the first eight months of this year, according to local Customs. Of the total, the province's exports gained 7.5 percent to 318 billion yuan, while imports rose 9.8 percent to 199.56 billion yuan, data from Zhengzhou Customs showed. From January to August, the province's main exports included mobile phones, labor-intensive products, aluminum products and agricultural products.
