Hainan to ban sales of fuel cars by 2030
South China's island province of Hainan plans to ban sales of all fuel vehicles by 2030, a government document said. According to the implementation plan of carbon peaking issued by the provincial government on Monday, all new and replacement vehicles in the public services and commercial services sectors in Hainan will use clean energy by 2025, and sales of fuel vehicles will be banned by 2030. The plan makes Hainan the first region in China to institute such a ban.
AI firm iFLYTEK posts strong revenue growth
China's leading artificial intelligence and speech tech company iFLYTEK Co Ltd posted strong revenue growth in the first half, according to the company's interim report. Operating revenue stood at 8.02 billion yuan ($1.17 billion) during the period, up 26.97 percent year-on-year, the report said. Revenue from smart education and smart city businesses reached 2.2 billion yuan and 2.18 billion yuan, respectively, up 27.38 percent and 42.55 percent.
