Peking students snap photos depicting lives of Shaanxi villagers

This summer, during their social experience trip to Nihegou village in Northwest China's Shaanxi province, 14 students from the School of Journalism and Communication of Peking University trekked across the countryside and took portrait photos of the villagers.

Universities in China require students to take social experience trips every summer so they can learn more about the country.

The students took the photos in a makeshift studio they set up in the village committee building.
