"Through this event, we hope to unite different forces in building a beautiful Xinjiang and show the unity of the Chinese nation through culture," said Arken Toniazi, chairman of the region.
The exhibition covers a total area of 5,000 square meters, with seven different sections. It will run until Thursday.
"It is a really diverse show. The iron technique from Jilin province impresses me the most," said Bai Xiamin, a resident from Urumqi. "The meaning of intangible cultural heritage is not only about inheriting but also exchanging, to make it vital."
