Expressway in Henan completes key task
A pair of T-shaped 70-meter-long concrete beams, used on the Mianchi-Xichuan Expressway in Nanyang, Central China's Henan province, was rotated by 44.5 and 42.3 degrees to designed position, to traverse the existing Haolebaoji-Ji'an Railway without affecting its normal operations. Each beam weighs 8,500 tons. The task took 100 minutes for State builder China Railway No 4 Engineering Group Co Ltd to complete on Wednesday. Upon completion, the 650-kilometer road will link Henan's expressways with those in neighboring Hubei province.
Reverse repos add 2b yuan to system
The People's Bank of China on Wednesday conducted 2 billion yuan ($295 million) of seven-day, 2.1 percent reverse repos to maintain stable liquidity in the banking system. A reverse repo is a process in which the central bank purchases securities from commercial banks through bidding, with an agreement to sell them back in the future.
