FIBA, the global governing body of basketball, officially launched an app on Friday for its youth training project in China, setting a comprehensive digital platform to facilitate its talent-cultivating program in the country.

The app "FIBA Youth Training" covers all functions needed for users to take part in the organization's training programs in China, such as the skills challenge, coach training sessions and other youth-focused activities, making it a complete package with another Wechat mini program that had been launched earlier.

Since the launch of the mini program on Wechat in 2021, thousands of youth players and over one hundred training institutions have joined the youth training system by registering in the program, according to Patrick Mariller, president of FIBA China.

"The launch of the app is another key milestone of FIBA China Youth Training, marking that the platform has entered a new era," said Mariller. "The upgraded platform not only enriches the online content and enhances the functions, but also greatly improves the efficiency of organizing offline events and activities."

"In the future, we will work with more partners to provide users with additional professional online content and better service and experience," he said.

As essential parts of the FIBA youth training project in China, the skills challenge program was designed and developed to cultivate all-around young talents both physically and mentally through scientific training and tests of young players' sportsmanship, basketball knowledge, physical strength and basketball skills.

Developed by Xi'an-based company Xinghan Canlan Information Technology, a technical supplier of the youth training project, the app will better serve participants with convenient operation and user-friendly experience.

The app covers skills challenge registration, training registration, certificate inquiry, online courses, event review, ranking and mobile office. The simple login and operation process improves the efficiency for users, while the unique page layout and colorway also brings more interests to the users.

In the future, the app will continue to introduce advanced youth training content, both domestic and overseas, for more youth players and basketball practitioners.

"FIBA Youth Training" app is now available on all major mobile application stores. Search "FIBA Youth Training" to download and use. In addition, the app has synchronized with the user information of its counterpart Wechat mini-program, users of the mini-program need not to register again when downloading and using the app.
