Chen Yufei beats Tai Tzu-ying to advance to Malaysia Masters final
KUALA LUMPUR - Olympic champion Chen Yufei outperformed Tai Tzu-ying of Chinese Taipei 21-13, 23-21 on Saturday to advance to the Malaysia Masters final, where she will face South Korea's An Se-young.
In women's doubles, China's Chen Qingchen/Jia Yifan outclassed their local rivals Tan Pearly/Thinaah Muralitharan 21-10, 21-19, and will face off against Japan's Nami Matsuyama/Chiharu Shida for the title.
Chinese shuttlers will also feature in the mixed doubles final as Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong beat Yang Po-hsuan/Hu Ling-fang of Chinese Taipei 20-22, 21-16, 22-20 in the semifinals. They will face Indonesia's Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari for the title.
Men's singles Lu Guangzu crashed out against his Indonesian opponent Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo 20-22, 23-21, 21-19 while men's doubles duo Liang Weikeng/Wang Chang were defeated by Indonesia's Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan 21-19, 21-14.
