Temple impresses visitors with its stunning architecture

Mahabodhi Chinese Temple in the Indian city of Bodh Gaya is a stunning structure built in 1945.
Constructed by Chinese Buddhist monks in collaboration with the Chinese government, the temple was renovated in 1997. It impresses visitors with its serenity and three golden statues of Buddha.
The temple architecture is a mix of beautiful Indian and Chinese designs, especially the exterior, which resembles a Chinese monastery. The venue also houses a 200-year-old Buddha statue brought from China, which was erected as a sacred shrine.
Followers of Buddhism from across the globe visit the temple to witness its magnificent architecture, while Buddha Purnima, also known as Buddha Jayanti-one of the religion's most important festivals-is celebrated at the site every year to commemorate the birth of Buddha.
The temple's attractions also include rich and detailed travelogues drawn by Chinese religious scholars who journeyed to India to pursue spirituality and wisdom.
For the past two years since the COVID-19 pandemic hit Bodh Gaya, the temple's devotees have donated food, clothing, blankets and groceries to destitute people living in or near the city.
One devotee said members of the temple management distribute cooked food to some 150 to 200 poor people and their children each day.
Master Huirong, who is in charge of the temple, oversees a team of seven to 10 members who cook, package and distribute the food.
