China will pay more attention to the general rule of the market while implementing fair competition policy, so as to give full play to the market mechanism for a unified domestic market, according to a top official of the country's market regulator.

"More efforts will be made to deepen the implementation of fair competition policy, especially on the stability and predictability of the supervision," said Pu Chun, deputy head of the State Administration for Market Regulation.

"Any regulation or practice that hinders the development of a unified domestic market and fair competition will be eliminated," said Pu in a press conference held by the State Council Information Office on Friday.

Pu said the country's fair competition system and mechanism are improving gradually with the revision of the Antimonopoly Law being accelerated.

"Seven supporting regulations on antimonopoly and anti-unfair competition were formulated. The country also unveiled seven guidelines on operator compliance for key industries like platform economy,"he added.

According to Pu, over the past 10 years, the market regulator has investigated a total of 195 monopoly cases and 82 cases involving the abuse of dominant market position. Up to 3,822 cases on the concentration of business operators were concluded.
