Military parade marks army's anniversary
A military parade was held on Monday at Kim Il Sung Square in central Pyongyang, the capital of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, to mark the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Korean People's Army. Kim Jong-un, DPRK's top leader and general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, said that as long as the hearts of all officers and men of the DPRK armed forces are pulsating with the thick blood and precious souls of the revolutionary forerunners, the socialist cause will always emerge victorious in future.

Sugar-loving holder of record dies at 119
A Japanese woman recognized as the world's oldest person has died at age 119, just months short of her goal of reaching 120. Born on Jan 2, 1903, Kane Tanaka loved playing the board game Othello and had a penchant for chocolate and fizzy drinks. She was certified by Guinness World Records in 2019 as the oldest living person when she was 116 years old.
