Anhui's GDP grows 5.2% in first quarter
Anhui province's gross domestic product grew 5.2 percent year-on-year in the first quarter to 1.03 trillion yuan ($162 billion), the provincial information office said on Wednesday. Despite the impact brought by COVID-19, the added value of the province's primary, secondary and tertiary industries reached 45.06 billion yuan, 421.58 billion yuan, and 568.13 billion yuan in the first quarter, up 9.2 percent, 6.3 percent and 4 percent, respectively. The province also saw robust foreign trade growth in the first quarter.
Henan's Jan-March foreign trade up 5.1%
Foreign trade in Henan province hit nearly 203.4 billion yuan ($31.9 billion) in the first quarter, according to Zhengzhou Customs, up 5.1 percent year-on-year. Of the total trade volume, exports rose 2.5 percent to 123.4 billion yuan while imports expanded 9.5 percent to nearly 80 billion yuan.
Report: Grain output set to stay steady
China's grain output is expected to maintain stable growth this year, building upon earlier gains. Grain output is expected to reach 688 million tons in 2022 thanks to the country's preferential policies, according to a report released at the 2022 China Agricultural Outlook Conference sponsored by the Agricultural Information Institute under the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
