PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania-Two people were killed and several more were injured after a shooting in Pittsburgh early on Sunday, police said.

Pittsburgh police said in a news release that the shooting happened at about 12:30 am during a party at a short-term rental property. There were more than 200 people inside, many of them underage, authorities said.

Police said multiple people were taken to the hospital, including at least 11 people with gunshot wounds. Two male gunshot victims died at the hospital, police said. They were not yet identified.

Police said as many as 50 rounds were fired inside and several more were fired outside. Shell casings from rifles and pistols were found at the scene, WTAE-TV reported. Police were processing evidence at as many as eight separate crime scenes spanning a few blocks around where the shooting occurred.

Also during the weekend, at least 14 people were injured in a shooting that erupted on Saturday inside a shopping mall in Columbia, South Carolina. Three people were taken into custody, police said.

Columbia police chief William Holbrook said the shooting at the Columbiana Centre mall, which unfolded at about 2 pm local time, stemmed from "some kind of conflict" among a group of armed individuals who knew each other.

Holbrook said Jewayne M.Price, 22, one of three people initially detained by law enforcement as a person of interest, remained in police custody and was expected to be charged with unlawfully carrying a pistol.
