A record seven golden snub-nosed monkeys were born at Shennongjia National Park in Hubei province recently, according to experts at the park.

The snub-nosed monkey (Rhinopithecus) is a nationally protected endangered species.

The population, which was around 500 in the 1980s, has grown to more than 1,400 now, thanks to improvements in the ecosystem.

Their habitat has also expanded from 200 square kilometers to more than 350 sq km.
