Ex-Mexico boss Osorio leaves Colombia's America
BOGOTA -- Former Mexico national team manager Juan Carlos Osorio has parted ways with Colombian top-flight side America de Cali.
The announcement followed America's 1-0 loss at Deportes Tolima, a result that left the club 15th in the 20-team Primera A standings with just four wins from 13 matches.
"We have reached a mutual agreement to terminate our contract with Juan Carlos Osorio. We wish him success for the rest of his professional career," America said in a brief statement.
The club added that assistant manager Pompilio Paez would take charge on an interim basis.
America's record under Osorio's stewardship, which began last June, was 15 wins, 11 draws and 23 losses.
The 60-year-old's managerial career has included spells in at the helm of Chicago Fire, New York Red Bulls, Sao Paulo, Atletico Nacional as well as the Mexico and Paraguay national teams.
