Beijing opens new online spaces for Olympic fans

Despite people from across the world unable to visit Beijing for 2022 Winter Olympics due to the COVID-19 pandemic, fans can be involved in the Games through Beijing 2022 Cloud Showcasing and an Online Superstore, which were launched online this week.

Currently, a total of 12 Olympic partners and 10 official partners of the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games have joined in the Cloud Showcasing, which can be accessed through its website, the "My 2022" app and a WeChat mini program.

Fans can acquire various Olympics-related content, learn the efforts of the Olympic partners and enjoy preferential services provided by the corporations on the Cloud Showcasing. Visitors can also participate in online games and other activities on the Cloud Showcasing to earn special prizes.

According to a media conference of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games on Thursday, the Cloud Showcasing had been visited over 860,000 times two days after it was launched, an "unthinkable feat" for offline exhibition.

"The launch of the Cloud Showcasing offers a new channel for the Chinese people and fans from across the globe to know the Beijing Winter Olympics and the Olympic partners," said Gu Haoning, an official of the BOCOG at the media conference.
