Firing drill of missile regiment announced
Two tactical guided missiles fired during a drill of a railway-borne regiment of North Phyongan Province on Friday hit their target in the East Sea of Korea, the official Korean Central News Agency of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea said. The aim was to check the regiment's readiness and bolster its ability to discharge firepower, the agency said. It was supervised by officers of the Korean People's Army and officials of the Academy of Defence Science, it said.

Six hurt in shooting outside concert hall
Six people were wounded after being shot outside a concert hall in Eugene, Oregon, police said. Of the six wounded and taken to hospital on Friday night, one was in critical condition, they said, adding that it was unclear whether the victims were random or targeted. "What we have right now is a single suspect," a police spokesman said. "All we know is that he's male and in a hoodie." Police were called to the hall in downtown Eugene about 9:30 pm after receiving reports of many shots being fired and many victims. The shooting happened in a parking lot behind the hall while a concert was taking place.

New chair takes over for G77 and China group
Pakistan has taken over from the Republic of Guinea the leadership of the Group of 77 and China for 2022.Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi presided over the proceedings of the opening segment of the handover ceremony on Friday, held in a virtual format. The G77, whose name derives from its 77 founding members, is a group of 134 developing countries at the UN. China aligns itself with the group, whose aim is to promote collective economic interests of the members and to try to have a bigger say in the world organization.
