China's raw coal output registers faster growth in November

BEIJING -- China's raw coal output registered faster growth in November driven by policies increasing production and ensuring supply, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) Wednesday.

The country's raw coal output increased 4.6 percent year-on-year to 370 million tons last month, and the growth was 0.6 percentage points higher than that in October, the NBS data showed.

The November output represented 6.1-percent growth from the same period in 2019, according to the NBS.

The country imported 35.05 million tons of coal in November, up 198.1 percent year-on-year.

In the January-November period, China produced 3.67 billion tons of raw coal, up 4.2 percent year-on-year, or up 4.6 percent from the same period in 2019.

In the past 11 months, China imported about 290 million tons of coal, up 10.6 percent year-on-year.
