Shui Qingxia appointed as head coach of Chinese women's football team


SHANGHAI - The Chinese Football Association (CFA) has appointed Shui Qingxia as the head coach of the Chinese national women's football team, CFA announced on its official website on Thursday.
Shui served as the head coach of Shanghai women's football team before the appointment. According to the announcement, the CFA made the decision based on comprehensive consideration and careful study.
Born in Jiangsu Province in 1966, Shui was a former member of the Shanghai women's football team and the national women's football team. As a midfielder, Shui was good at free kick in the team. In November 1998, she joined Suzuyo Shimizu F.C. of Japan and scored 11 goals in the league.
After retiring in 2001, Shui coached the national women's football youth team and Shanghai women's football team. She was once rated as the best coach of the women's Super League in China. Enditem
