A1: Siemens Energy has been part of this global largest import-themed fair for a consecutive three years. This year is also the first time that Siemens Energy exhibits as an independent company after its public listing. We have already signed up, a few months ago, our participation for next year's CIIE.

CIIE, as the largest national-level exhibition, is already becoming a place for shared opportunities for companies from around the world, a window for presenting new ideas, technologies and diverse cultures, and, most importantly, an arena for global exchange and cooperation.

The CIIE 2021 will be another historical one: Faced with mounting climate challenges, China has set forth the ambitious climate goal and presented a clear roadmap. Energy companies can and should play a more proactive role here, and this is the topic that I am looking forward to sharing and discussing, and the area where more energy partnerships can be forged during the event.

A2: The CIIE is a good reflection of China's contribution to the global economic recovery, with the country booking a 32.6 percent year-on-year growth of trade volume by the third quarter. At a time of uncertainties, the world needs constructive voices for cooperation, positive gestures for inclusion, and concrete actions to press ahead with innovation. These are what can be expected from CIIE this year by the whole world.

A4: China's goal to reach peak carbon emissions by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060 is not only about energy transition, but also about promoting higher-level international cooperation and technological innovation in the face of global climate change challenges. This will provide a broader scope of cooperation for leading global energy technology companies like Siemens Energy especially in the field of renewable energy. We believe we have such entrepreneurial power, innovation capability and advanced technologies, and more than these, the conviction to support China on its journey of decarbonization by co-creating a new energy ecosystem together with our Chinese partners.

A5: The answer is a clear "yes". As an example, Siemens Energy chose to register in the Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone before operating independently in China in May 2020. Shortly thereafter, during the epidemic, we injected an additional 3.8 billion yuan ($593 million). This best tells our confidence in China's future development as a multinational company and our determination to continue expanding cooperation with our Chinese partners.

A6: To give it historical perspective, with China's tremendous achievements in various aspects of society, economy and international influence over the past decades, those "worries" at the very early days of opening up and reform among many people have been largely eliminated.

Along with the high-quality development of China's economy and trade, and the continuous internationalization of laws and regulations, the country is conveying a strong message of "determination" and "confidence" to the world, be it with the Belt and Road Initiative or the CIIE.

A7: China is already fast to formulate further opening-up action plans. The next is to continue this great momentum in a faster forward mode, especially in the area of global technical cooperation in building up a green economy. As a matter of fact, most low-carbon technologies for decarbonization are already available, but we need to come closer to drive faster application of these technologies on a larger scale, in order to benefit from economies of scale and reduce carbon emissions in the fastest and most efficient way. Siemens Energy is ready for contributing more through expanded collaboration with our Chinese partners.

A8: No country can stand alone and face the mega challenges that impact the shared destiny of the whole humankind. This is especially true in the fight against climate change. In the area of decarbonization, China has been strongly advocating international cooperation and recently defined much concrete actions to boost international cooperation. We are ready to contribute more of our innovations and advanced technologies to support China on its journey to a decarbonized future.
