Chinese platforms are surging into the lead of global advertising networks, as recent shakeups in the mobile ecosystem and the COVID-19 pandemic changed the industry significantly, according to a new report.

Per this year's AppsFlyer's Performance Index, Mintegral, a Chinese leading mobile advertising platform, received top position for a number of regional gaming categories.

In the global Android growth index, Chinese platforms such as Bigo, Xiaomi and Vivo have grown rapidly, occupying three seats in the top four.

"As smartphone manufacturers like Xiaomi and Vivo beef up their overseas efforts, their advertising investments also rose rapidly. These Chinese platforms have a rising impact on developing markets especially," said Wang Wei, president of AppsFlyer Greater China.

The AppsFlyer Performance Index is an industry-standard report that highlights top mobile media sources globally. The report used 623 media sources to examine 33 billion app installs, 17,000 apps, and 55 billion app openings.
