The US tech giant Microsoft Corp on Tuesday partnered with a string of personal computer makers to showcase the new features of its latest operating system Windows 11 in Beijing, as the Chinese PC market is expected to continue growth amid the new normal of the hybrid workplace.

The move also came after the past year has proved how central the PC is in keeping people and organizations connected, productive and secure amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Shen Bin, vice-president of Microsoft Greater China Consumer Channel Sales & Marketing, said at a media event in Beijing that for more than 30 years, Windows has been a platform trusted by users all over the world, and it plays a vital role in users' work and life.

Amid the new normal of a mixture of office and remote collaboration, Windows 11 is designed to better boost users' productivity and creativity, Shen said.

The consumer PC market in China is forecast to grow at 10 percent this year, according to data from the market research company International Data Corp.

At the event, Microsoft partnered with PC makers such as Lenovo and Dell to showcase the new features of Windows 11.
