Lotus flowers grown from seeds dating to Song Dynasty (960-1279) are blooming at the ancient Haichuang Temple in Guangzhou, Guangdong province.

The seeds were unearthed in Kaifeng, Henan province, and planted at the temple in 2018.

Flowers have bloomed every year since, and the temple has set the 24th day of the sixth month on the lunar calendar as Lotus Festival.
