Chongqing's H1 e-commerce trade up
Southwest China's Chongqing municipality saw its cross-border e-commerce trade grow substantially in the first half of this year. From January to June, the cross-border e-commerce trade of Chongqing amounted to 6.14 billion yuan ($945.46 million), an increase of 75.6 percent year-on-year, according to the municipal commission of commerce. Specifically, business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce exports surged four times to 2.91 billion yuan.
Gaming revenue at $23b in first half
The sales revenue of China's gaming industry reached 150.5 billion yuan ($23.17 billion) in the first half of this year, up 7.89 percent year-on-year, according to an industry report released at the China Digital Entertainment Congress, which kicked off in Shanghai on Thursday. The report said the country's gaming industry continues to grow, a real-name authentication system has been established, and protection for minors has also improved. However, the industry has seen a slowdown in the growth of Chinese game users and the market will become increasingly fierce in the future. From January to June, the number of game users in China reached nearly 667 million, up 1.38 percent year-on-year.
Shanxi opens freight train link to Turkey
A new direct China-Europe freight train service has been launched, linking North China's inland province of Shanxi with Turkey. A train loaded with goods, including daily necessities, machinery and equipment, left a logistics park in Taiyuan, the provincial capital, on Thursday for Mersin in southern Turkey. The new route brought the total number of China-Europe freight train routes via Shanxi to 10, linking over 30 cities from 11 countries in Central Asia and Europe.
