NEW APPOINTMENT
Uwe Guemmer has been appointed general manager of the Luxury Hotel Sofitel Jinan Silver Plaza. As the head of the operation and management of hotel, he is devoted to spreading Sofitel's brand culture and improving the experience of its guests.
GREEN AWARD
Thirteen hotels won the Macao Green Hotel Award for their eco-friendly operations in late June. Since the award was created in 2007, the number of its winners has reached 57, nearly half of Macao's total hotels, according to China News Service. All the winners have equipped their hotels with LED lighting, with some also using solar energy facilities. More than 70 percent of the hotels have special procedures to treat kitchen waste and some 40 percent have installed machines to deal with the issue, the news agency reported.
LANDMARK OPENING
The Novotel Zhengzhou Airport has opened in the capital city of Henan province in Central China. Situated within a new landmark commercial and office complex along Xinzheng International Airport's main thoroughfare, the new hotel provides easy access to trade and transport centers.
FRIENDSHIP PACKAGE
The Ritz-Carlton Tianjin has launched a new package designed for the gathering of female friends. It includes a one-night stay in the hotel's terrace premier room, a breakfast buffet at Zest-an all-day restaurant in the hotel, and a seven-course dinner as well as two cocktails at Flair-a bar and restaurant.

InterContinental Chongqing Raffles City provides diners with a variety of culinary delights. Its Chinese restaurant combines local culture and modern fashion trends, and its bar features live band performances and offers alcoholic beverages, including wines, whiskeys and cocktails, as well as light refreshments.
