China firmly opposes the United States adding 23 Chinese entities to its "entity list" of export controls, and the nation will take necessary measures to protect legitimate rights and interests of Chinese entities, according to the Ministry of Commerce.

A spokesperson of the MOC said on Sunday that the US has generalized the concept of national security, abused export control measures, disregarded facts, and used the excuses such as "human rights" once again to include the 23 Chinese entities into its so-called entity list.

"That is an unjustified suppression of Chinese enterprises and a serious damage to international economic and trade rules, which China firmly opposes, the spokesperson said.

"The US must immediately stop the wrong practice, and we will take necessary measures to safeguard Chinese entities' legitimate rights and interests."
