Universal Beijing Resort has gone to great lengths to give guests an exciting experience when the venue opens.

The Beijing municipal government has offered support for the project's facilities, with the aim of providing a high-end tourist landmark for the city.

Visitors can reach the venue's main entrance, dubbed Universal CityWalk Beijing, by taking the Batong Line or Line 7 on the subway.

To offer an additional public transportation choice for the resort, the Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission approved a project to provide a bus service for visitors to the venue.

The new Shiyuan Bus Terminal will occupy 7,000 square meters and feature bus parking areas, business lots and other facilities.

Visitors will also be able to tour the theme park by boat. A 2.8-kilometer-long waterway will wind through the resort area, from Jiukeshu Middle Road to west of the East Sixth Ring Road.

Eight major tourist spots will be located along the waterway-all named after ancient and modern poems about the Grand Canal.

The resort's two hotels feature small docks, where guests can board boats to the park's main entrance.

Located in the eastern district of Tongzhou, the venue comprises the Universal Studios theme park, CityWalk and the hotels, along with 37 recreational facilities, themed attractions and dozens of food and beverage outlets.

CityWalk, home to 24 shops, a cinema, many restaurants and a host of mobile food bars, offers free admission for visitors.

To add an international flavor to the resort, CityWalk Red Oven Pizza Bakery, which has proved popular at the Universal Orlando Resort in the United States, will open at Beijing CityWalk, marking the restaurant's first presence outside the US.

South Korean lifestyle brand Kakao Friends is poised to open its flagship store in Beijing CityWalk-its first outlet in the Chinese capital.

The cinema in CityWalk, which boasts 2,000 seats and 11 screens, is equipped with the biggest IMAX screen for commercial use in Beijing.

A trial version of the resort's app, listing themed attractions and entertainment, is now available. Facilities such as stores and restaurants at the park can also be reached via the app.
