I think a good major shoud be the first choice for students. If you are admitted to a university, but do not learn the major you are suitable for, even if you study a "hot" major, it is possible that you will struggle to learn and might not tolerate those professional courses and knowledge that you are not interested in. Not to mention the heavy homework that needs to be done.
