What they say

Editor's note: The Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China invited representatives of CPC members working in auditing to share their views of audit work on Wednesday.
The management of natural resources and the protection of the ecological environment have been included in the evaluation of the performance of Party and government officials at all levels. We focus on issues such as water pollution, air pollution and groundwater overexploitation that sacrifice the environment for rapid economic growth in the short term.
Peng Peng, an auditor with the natural resources and ecological environment section of the Tianjin Municipal Audit Bureau
After the COVID-19 epidemic broke out, the National Audit Office organized 20,000 people to conduct special audits of funds and donations for epidemic prevention and control. At the height of the shortage of face masks during the epidemic, there were auditors in the mask factories and allocation centers. We made reasonable audit recommendations, and urged them to make corrections in time. We promptly pushed for rectification and promoted the rapid allocation of 10 billion yuan ($1.57 billion) of funds and 100 million items.
Wu Xing, deputy head of the social security audit department at the National Audit Office
Poverty relief funds were lifesaving money for poor people, and not a single cent should be wasted. How the relief funds were spent and what effect they brought were the primary concerns of poverty alleviation audits. In recent years, we found in our work that the use of poverty alleviation funds has become more standardized, and the people have a stronger sense of gain and happiness.
Bing Fang, an agricultural auditor from the Lanzhou special office of the National Audit Office
I have been to the country's western region 13 times since 2009 to carry out audit work of projects related to Beijing's cooperation assistance. I have witnessed the great changes in the western region. People's living conditions have improved with the school and kindergarten projects, the hospital and medical projects and the shantytown reconstruction projects.
Xu Liang, deputy head of the fixed-assets investment audit section of the Beijing Municipal Audit Bureau
