Ghana FA appoints former captain as coordinator for women's national teams
ACCRA -- The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has appointed Adjoa Bayor, former captain of the women's senior national team, the Black Queens, as coordinator for all four female national teams in the country, the FA announced here Thursday.
According to GFA, Bayor will work in the national team department headed by GFA Deputy General Secretary Alex Asante. Their mandate is to facilitate training programs, preparation for matches and competitions, and other activities of the female national teams in Ghana.
The former Ghanaian women's captain, who played at the 1999 FIFA Women's World Cup in America is expected to bring her experience to bear in her new role.
In 2003, the Confederation of African Football awarded Bayor as the African women footballer of the year.
