Buffon to leave Juve at end of the season
ROME -- Legendary goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon is set to part company with Juventus, after he announced the decision to depart at end of the season.
Buffon joined the Bianconeri from Parma on a record transfer-fee for a goalie in 2001, winning numerous titles in the black and white jersey. Despite a short-stay with Paris St-Germain in 2018-19 season, Gigi made his return to Allianz Stadium to play second fiddle to Wojciech Szczesny.
The 43-year-old is on an expiring contract and he disclosed his Juve career has come to an end, but his future is still up in the air.
"My future is clear and defined. This beautiful and very long experience with Juve will come to a definitive end this year," he told beIN Sports.
"Either I stop playing, or if I find a situation that motivates me to play or have a different life experience, I will take it into consideration. I feel I gave everything for Juve. I have received everything and more than this cannot be done."
Juve's nine-year dominion of Scudetto was terminated by Inter Milan a couple of days ago, and the Old Lady now ranks fifth with three games to spare.
