Highly prized pink diamond on show in Shanghai and Beijing before auction

Christie's has brought together a fine collection of renowned artworks, fine jewelry and luxury watches for preview in the mainland before the auction takes place in Hong Kong to "tap the potential of the post-pandemic art market of China," according to Julia Hu, general manager of Christie's China.
Two paintings by Chinese French artist Sanyu (1901-1966) are on public preview at Christie's Shanghai and Beijing. The Potted Chrysanthemums, measuring 91.5 centimeters in height and 48 centimeters in width, is the largest floral painting by the artist to feature pink blossoms set against vibrant blue branches. It is one of the few important late-period still life works still held in private hands, making it exceedingly rare, according to the auctioneer.
