Major section of China-Laos railway completed

The main project of the Pu'er and Xishuangbanna railway stations of the domestic section of the China-Laos railway line have been completed, according to railway authorities.

All 11 railway stations in the domestic section of the line have been completed and have begun their decoration stage, said Yang Xuezhi of thee Kunming bureau of China State Railway Group Co.

All the stations are expected to be operating before the end of the year. Interior decorating should be complete by the end of June, Yang said.

The 1,000-kilometer-long cross-border railway links Kunming, Yunnan province, to Vientiane, the capital of Laos.

The construction and decoration of the stations integrates local, regional and national characteristics and historical culture, said Ding Hui, who is charge of the decoration project of Pu'er station.
