Yellow Emperor to be honored in Xinzheng with ancient ceremony 辛丑年黄帝故里拜祖大典
A ceremony to honor Huangdi will be held on April 14 in Xinzheng, Zhengzhou, Huangdi's hometown. 2021年4月14日(周三)在郑州新郑黄帝故里举行

The legendary ancestor Xuanyuan (Huangdi's given name) is said to have been born in Xinzheng, Henan province more than 5,000 years ago and is also known as the initiator of Chinese civilization. To worship Xuanyuan on the third day of the third lunar month is a cultural tradition of the Chinese nation.
The theme of this year's ceremony maintains "the same roots, ancestor, peace and harmony", with the combination of an onsite worshipping ceremony in Xinzheng and an online ceremony. Overseas Chinese will also hold ceremonies to worship Huangdi on the same day. The grand ceremony has nine solemn, sacred procedures: a grand salute; the offering of flower baskets; the cleaning of hands and the offering incense; worship; reading slogans of worship; singing an ode; song and dance performances; expressing good wishes to the Chinese nation; and praying for peace and harmony.
The ceremony will be broadcast live on CCTV, Phoenix Satellite TV, Henan Satellite TV and other local channels, with videos featuring overseas and online worship activities. The ceremony will also demonstrate Huangdi-themed culture and Yellow River civilization for the first time, presenting cultural relics such as the Juci mountains, the Shuanghuaishu site, the Dahe Village site, and the Peiligang site.
A multi-innovative online platform for worship is in place for the Chinese people at home and abroad to worship Xuanyuan and pray for the nation, where they can have interactive experiences, using virtual reality, cosplay and more.
