Silicon PV project progresses in Lijiang
The third phase of a silicon photovoltaic project has been launched in Southwest China's Yunnan province with an investment of around 2.5 billion yuan ($382 million), said local authorities. Based in Lijiang, the new phase aims to produce high-efficiency monocrystalline silicon rods with an annual power-generating capacity of 10 gigawatts. It follows the two phases launched in the city in 2016 and 2018, respectively, each with an annual capacity of 6 GW.
FAW's Hongqi says Q1 sales rise by 180%
Hongqi, a car brand under China's leading automaker FAW Group Co Ltd, posted rising sales in the first quarter of the year. The brand sold more than 70,000 vehicles in the period, up 180 percent on a yearly basis, according to FAW Group. The production and marketing of its new energy vehicles will be prioritized this year, sources with the group said.
