China and the United States should resolve each other's legitimate concerns through dialogue and consultation on the basis of mutual respect and equal treatment, according to China's Ministry of Commerce.
As the world's two largest economies, the essence of economic and trade relations between the two countries should be mutually beneficial and win-win, Gao Feng, spokesman of the ministry, said during a media conference on Thursday.
China always opposes unilateral imposing of tariffs, because that is not good for China, the United States, or the world, he said.
