The annual Tiger Culture Festival was held from Saturday to Monday in Shuangbai county, Southwest China's Yunnan province. This is a yearly event for the people of the Yi ethnic group, to whom the tiger is the totem animal. People celebrate the festival in a very traditional way, such as by dancing the Laohusheng, or Tiger Dance, which is regarded by domestic and international scholars as a living fossil of local tiger culture.
