Shanghai to hold tourism industry expo

A comprehensive tourism expo, the Tourism Plus Shanghai 2021, will take place in Shanghai from March 29 to April 3. Covering an area of 600,000 square meters, the expo will include four exhibitions and feature nearly 100 forums and summits, 29 competitions and award events. More than 5,000 exhibitors and 400,000 visitors are expected to participate in the six-day event.

Tianjin reports robust foreign trade growth

The northern Chinese port city of Tianjin saw robust growth in foreign trade during the first two months of the year, according to the city's municipal commission of commerce. Foreign trade rose by 21.1 percent on a yearly basis to 120.3 billion yuan ($18.5 billion) in the first two months of 2021, said the commission. The growth was mainly driven by exports, which grew 45.7 percent year-on-year to 52.1 billion yuan.

CETC unit develops parts for chipmakers

A subsidiary of China Electronic Technology Group Corp has developed full series of homegrown ion implanters for chipmakers. The ion implanters are all made in China and can provide a one-stop service for global chipmakers, CETC said. The company has developed an ion implanter family ranging from medium current, high current and high energy implanters, to implanters for special applications and third-generation semiconductors.
