Meet the people, places honored for poverty relief

Haojiaqiao village
in Zhangjiabian township, Suide county of Shaanxi province

In 2014, there were 236 households (548 people in total) registered as living under the poverty line in Haojiaqiao village, with a poverty headcount ratio of 30.7 percent.

The village has built 2000 mu (133 hectares) of apple orchard, 20 greenhouses, and 40 arch sheds for growing vegetables.

Besides a total scale of 500kW photovoltaic industry, the village has also leveraged tourism, modern agriculture and other channels to help poor people increase their income.

By the end of 2020, all the poor people in the village were lifted out of poverty and the per capita disposable income of the villagers reached 11,543 yuan ($1,782).
