Moon, Biden agree to boost alliance
Moon Jae-in, president of the Republic of Korea, said on Thursday that he and US President Joe Biden have agreed to further bolster their countries' alliance and work together to achieve peace on the Korean Peninsula. After his first phone talks with Biden since the US president's Jan 20 inauguration, Moon said he and Biden "pledged to further upgrade the ROK-US alliance, an alliance that is anchored in shared values". "We will always stand together as we work for peace on the Korean Peninsula and tackle global challenges," Moon said.

15 held as embassy attack plot foiled
Ethiopia has arrested 15 suspected members of a terrorist group for allegedly planning attacks on the United Arab Emirates' embassy in Addis Ababa, local media reported on Wednesday. The Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation reported that the suspects had taken orders from a foreign terrorist group to conduct an attack on the UAE embassy, with the objective of damaging the image of the Ethiopian capital. The report also said the security services also worked in cooperation with its Sudanese counterpart and foiled another attack planned by the terrorist group on the UAE embassy in Khartoum.
