Millions of flowers to welcome Spring Festival

To welcome the upcoming Chinese Lunar New Year, which falls on Feb 12 this year, Beijing's flower makers have prepared more than 8.5 million plants for sale to meet the public demand, according to data from Beijing Gardening and Greening Bureau on Thursday.
Residents like to decorate their homes with various flowers during the Chinese Lunar New Year, also known as Spring Festival.
The top five flowers in quantity this year are succulent plants, butterfly orchid, jonquil, crab cactus and cyclamen, accounting for 80 percent of the total output of the 8.5 million plants.
