Engine alert on Boeing 737-8 Max

An Air Canada Boeing 737-8 Max flying between Arizona and Montreal with three crew members on board suffered an engine issue that forced the crew to divert the aircraft to Tucson, Arizona, the Canadian airline said in a statement on Friday. Shortly after takeoff, the pilots received an "engine indication" and "decided to shut down one engine," an Air Canada spokesman said. The aircraft then diverted to Tucson, where it landed normally and remains, he added. The incident took place on Tuesday. The alert about the left engine concerned "low pressure" and the crew declared an emergency before diverting the flight, Belgian aviation news website Aviation 24 reported.

Free-trade agreement with Turkey clinched

Britain and Turkey are set to sign a free-trade deal on Tuesday, the UK trade ministry said on Sunday, the first since Prime Minister Boris Johnson secured a trade agreement with the European Union. The two nations will sign a deal that replicates the existing trading terms between Ankara and London, but British Trade Minister Liz Truss said that she was hopeful a bespoke deal between the countries could be struck soon. The deal locks in tariff-free trading arrangements and "will help support trading relationship "between the two countries, said Truss in a statement.
