Steel imports rise in first 10 months
China's steel imports registered rapid growth in the first 10 months of the year, while the decline in exports narrowed, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The country's steel imports rose by 73.9 percent on a yearly basis to over 17 million metric tons in the January-October period. The growth was up 1.7 percentage points from the first three quarters, ministry data showed. Around 44.43 million tons of steel was exported in the first 10 months, down 19.3 percent on a yearly basis, narrowing the decline by 0.3 percentage point from the first three quarters.
HNA Group inks pact with Trip.com
HNA Group and Trip.com have signed an agreement for further cooperation in air transport and internet technology for global travel services. The agreement seeks to boost cooperation in data-sharing, big-data analysis, product marketing, digital construction of the airline industry, and the integration of tourism resources. The joint efforts made by the two sides are aimed at exploring opportunities as Hainan province builds its free-trade port.
