Live: Experts, officials share fruits of BRI green development policy studies

From climate change to pollution to biodiversity loss, environmental issues have received wider public attention, as they are affecting people’s daily lives.

How can policymaking help resolve those issues and how do experts assess the current policies? The BRI International Green Development Coalition (BRIGC) is scheduled to hold the Policy Studies Release and Launching of BRI Green Development Institute on Dec 1.

A series of policy study reports will be released on the event, including the BRI Green Development Case Studies (2020), the Green Development Guidance for BRI Projects Baseline Review Report, and issues papers on biodiversity, carbon market, green energy, and green supply chain. These policy studies cover a wide range of topics that are crucial to the green development of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and will provide a useful reference and policy recommendations to support the decision-making process related to the BRI.

The event will also launch the BRI Green Development Institute, established to further enhance BRIGC’s global presence, strengthen the capacity of the BRIGC Secretariat, and provide comprehensive support to BRIGC co-chairs, advisory committee members, and partners.

Initiated by President Xi Jinping, BRIGC was established last year to provide platforms for policy dialogue and communication, for knowledge and information sharing, and for green technology exchanges and transfers, so as to advance global consensus, understanding, cooperation, and concerted actions to achieve green development of the BRI.

Green is the salient background of the BRI development roadmap. Stay tuned to China Daily website to get insights from international experts.

Watch LIVE at 4 pm, Tuesday.
