Palm oil futures opened to foreign investors

Trading in onshore palm oil futures contracts will be opened to overseas investors from Dec 22, the China Securities Regulatory Commission said on Friday. The RBD Palm Olein futures contracts on the Dalian Commodity Exchange will be the seventh Chinese futures product available for overseas investors, after trading in bonded copper futures was opened to foreign investors on Thursday.

NetEase revenue up by 27.5% in Q3

Internet giant NetEase Inc posted net revenue of 18.66 billion yuan ($2.83 billion) in the third quarter of the year, up 27.5 percent on a yearly basis. The firm earned a net profit of 3 billion yuan in the third quarter, according to the quarterly financial report released by the company. The company's net profit attributable to shareholders during the period came in at 3.67 billion yuan. During the third-quarter of the year, NetEase's online gaming business reported a 20.2 percent year-on-year growth to 13.86 billion yuan, with quarterly revenue surpassing 10 billion yuan for 10 consecutive quarters.

Land port handles record freight trains

More than 3,000 China-Europe freight trains have made inbound and outbound trips through Manzhouli, China's largest land port, so far this year, a record despite the COVID-19, railway authorities said. At least 3,073 trains passed through Manzhouli, an important channel for international cargo in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, between Jan 1 and Nov 17, marking a yearly growth of 30.3 percent, according to the Manzhouli Station under China Railway Harbin Group. In breakdown, the port handled 1,493 inbound trains, an increase of 49.1 percent year-on-year, carrying imported goods including timber, auto parts, cereals and mechanical equipment. The number of outbound trains with goods such as electronics and garments also rose by 16.4 percent to 1,580.
