President's message backs rule of law
China stands ready to proactively conduct cooperation with different sides over international rule of law so as to extend legal support to the development of an open economy and the facilitating of global economic recovery, President Xi Jinping said on Friday.
In a message sent to the China Forum on International Legal Cooperation (2020), held in Beijing, Xi highlighted the need for a good law-based business environment during the joint building of the Belt and Road, saying that China always upholds openness, inclusiveness and win-win outcomes in conducting international legal cooperation.
He extended a welcoming message to the representatives taking part in the forum and expressed hope that they would conduct in-depth exchanges and build new consensuses focusing on the theme of the forum-international legal cooperation against the background of COVID-19.
He added that he hopes forum participants will contribute their wisdom and strength to the joint building of the Belt and Road through the rule of law and coping with global challenges in a more forceful manner.
