Company helps turn mine-scarred mountain into forest park

The company has invested nearly 1.1 billion yuan ($162 million) in the project and part of the forest park has been opened to the public.

Taiyuan has long been known for its rich mineral resources. In the past, large-scale mining polluted the city's air, water and soil, but in recent years, the local government, responding to calls from the central government, has emphasized environmental protection, shutting down illegal mines and restoring the environment.
