Pelle scores in Shandong Luneng's draw with Shanghai Shenhua

DALIAN, China - Former Italian international Graziano Pelle scored in Shandong Luneng's 1-1 with Shanghai Shenhua at the 10th round of the Chinese Super League (CSL) on Tuesday.
Luneng went ahead in the 19th minute when their striker Duan Liuyu miskicked the ball which flew into Pelle's way, and the Italian swept it in from a close range.
Shenhua's best chance of the first half came in the 43rd minute as they were awarded a free-kick. But the shot from the Shanghai side's captain Giovanni Moreno was finger-tipped over the crossbar by the Luneng goalkeeper Han Rongze.
Moreno equalized for Shenhua in the 81st minute with amazing prowess. The Columbia international dribbled shrugging off four defenders at the box before firing an angled shot past Han.
With the draw, Luneng and Shenhua remain third and fourth ranked at the table with 17 and 13 points respectively.
Fabio Cannavaro's Guangzhou Evergrande stay atop the table with 25 points, seven points clear of Jiangsu Suning.
The truncated 2020 CSL campaign saw 16 teams split into two groups, each group of eight teams to be based in the same hotel, to play a tournament style league behind closed doors.
