Better protection for written works
The Copyright Society of China set up a working committee on copyright protection of written works in Beijing on Saturday under the guidance of the National Copyright Administration. The establishment of the committee will help improve copyright protection mechanisms and protect the lawful rights and interests of copyright owners, according to experts. China's online literature industry suffers an average annual loss of over 5 billion yuan ($726 million) due to piracy, industry data showed.

12 missing after boat sinks off Pingtan
A fishing boat carrying 14 crew sank in waters near Pingtan Island in East China's Fujian province early on Sunday. Twelve people remained missing by 10 am, the provincial marine rescue center said. Two crew members were saved after the boat, registered in Quanzhou, Fujian province, sank at around 4 am, the center said. Rescue work is underway and the cause of the accident is being investigated.
