'Grassland in the sky' a cool summer getaway

The Malun Grassland in Ningwu county, Shanxi province, is an ideal escape for tourists wanting to avoid the scorching heat of summer.

Covering nearly 400 hectares, the grassland rises to 2,712 meters above sea level. Residents call it the "grassland in the sky". Even in summer, the temperature is cool and comfortable.

It is a typical alpine meadow and one of the largest in North China.
