Cross-province (autonomous region and city) group travel is now allowed to be arranged by Beijing-based travel agencies and those online, the Beijing News reported, according to responses from multiple travel agencies in Beijing on Monday. They said they received the notice from the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism.

Additionally, as per the notice, scenic areas in Beijing can lift the upper-limit tourist volume from no more than 30 percent of maximum capacity to 50 percent. Indoor areas in a scenic area also are allowed to open.

But the notice also makes it clear that travel agencies in Beijing shall not conduct group travel to areas outside Beijing with medium-or-higher risks or to severely flooded areas. Agencies can't arrange tours to Beijing for travel groups from areas with medium-and-high-level risks. The notice covers booking of air tickets and hotels.

Cross-border travel has not yet resumed, the notice added.
